Understanding our PDF SDK Pricing and Licensing

Published July 25, 2024

When companies use a SaaS product, pricing is based on a monthly fee, usually charged by “seat” or user. Software Development Kit (SDK) pricing, however, is set up very differently. Our PDF SDK, for example, can be used in several ways, but it is sold as a product, not a service.

Our customers use our SDKs in one of three ways, with licensing set up annually or multi-year.

OEMs

Our OEM customers incorporate Datalogics SDKs into applications for external distribution, for example products installed on local computers. Pricing is a flat annual fee per platform and royalty-based on product distribution and is based on how you license your product: a percentage of sales, a flat-fee per unit, or fix distribution.

SaaS

Customers using our SDKs in their externally accessible services hosted on their own servers license the software based on the number of servers deployed OR a customized model based on users, activations, quantity of documents processed, or revenue generated.

End-Users

This one is the easiest and most straightforward pricing and licensing model, as it is solely based on the number of servers or desktops where the software is directly deployed.
